Reducing Voltage

Ok, so I'm doing external power to run my added fans and lights on my 360. What do I need to reduce voltage? If you could tell me the exact thing I need for each voltage I need that would be better. Here's what I need...

convert 12volts to...
9v
5v

Also, would I have to put anything on the power if I were to hook up a 12v fan, like put a resistor on or something? Thanks

well you could use resistors, or you could look for a step down transformer

Any clue what resistors I would need? I have a box full of brand new ones so I just need to know the color bands or what ever

resistors would be less efficient, i would go for a step down transformer if I were you...
