maybe the top screan ribbon isnt in all the way, or you blew a fuse
However today I was brutally raped by a door handle, and none of my friends helped me up off the floor after ten minutes, instead they all teabaged me, all 10 of them...

Mario, it's the same  as the lite but easier :D. Anyway, If it's showing lines like that, then either the ribbon is either cut/bent too much to fix, or it's not in completely. Take it apart again, and check that the ribbon has ZERO cuts and/or bends. If it has any, then you pretty much need a new bottom screen. If not, then go ahead and try to re insert the ribbon cables.

Make sure your ribbon on the bottom screen is pushed in all the way like seikene said, that most likely is your problem

=D enjoy! Ermm, do you mean the deattachable piece that goes in with one screw? Just buy a whole new case if your hinge is broken. Trust me, it ain't worth having it weaker and more suceptible to breaking through the ribbon cable or the weakended hinge itself.

Oh then try to find that piece, because it still can get messed up if anyone or anything pokes the cable that stick out of there, or the black one (wifi and speaker board), plus it doesn't look complete w/o it :P

I had that same trouble. Try to open your DS up and put it in there, since it requires a screw to stay in place. The cable will keep blocking the piece from locking, so it has to be moved a bit, and you will need like a long, skinny, magnetic phillips screwdriver.
