Would it work if i hooked up the hold switch to one of the face plate buttons, like in the power switch rewired mod.

no because all of the face buttons are "momentary" the hold would only work if you were holding that face button down but once you let go it will unhold.

if you're looking for another hold just use the rewired switch mod. simply just one wire to the wifi and your wifi becomes your hold
