help formatting an ipod harddrive
« on: August 16, 2008, 02:12:38 PM »
i have an ipod harddrive and i bought an 1.8'' enclosure fore it. i connectted it to my computer and tried formatting it but i keep getting this error:

F:\ is not accessible
the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

is this harddrive dead or is there some special way on how to format it?

any help will be appreciated

That's a problem with the enclosure/connector you have. Are you sure it's made to work with iPod harddrives?
