« on: July 12, 2008, 01:27:52 PM »
ok so i just got my 360 a week ago, but already ive been itching to mod it
different case (maybe the Lian Li when it comes out)
side windows
internal lighting
internal vga
80 GB internal (USABLE) Hdd
and oh so much more

but im afraid that i might end up getting the RRoD and if i do, then i cant send it back to MS
and also, i dont wanna get banned from Live

What do you think i should do?

well the rrod is fixable, but if ur afraid i would go out and buy a new fan, one of the xcm ones or somthing, and then if u are rly afraid you can add 2 more fans to ur xbox, and hey, if you get banned, its the xbox not ur account, so you could sell it on ebay for alot then buy a new one :P
i would mod it but just make sure ur ready to mod it

i mean make sure u are able to mod it, like you got the skillz and confidence, so you dont mess up, ur proly ready but dont rush into this and screw everything up

heh, i got the skills definitely
soldering to scratched off psp, cell phone, and iPod traces is way harder than anything i think ill find in this huge box =P

the confidence, well after i get through the heart racing after opening up my baby, i think ill be fine there ^_^

and you're absolutely sure that the RRoD can be fixed by doing the Xclamp replacement thingie?

Oh! also. Would I could I get banned if i used a modified pc power supply instead of a power brick?

you cannot use a modyfied pc power supply no matter what you do. There are chips in the power brick that comunicate with the console and the console will not start with a different power source which is missing the chips.

I would also love to mod my xbox and i have some really cool ideas but i am too afraid of getting banned so I just leave it as it is :sadno:

To your question about the RROD, yes its fixable in 99% of cases with the xclamp fx and I have bought mine from ebay with RROD and fixed it so i can prove it really works.

Edit: but you definitely could do the inbuilt VGA port, that sounds like a cool idea and wont get u banned, also easy to do just requires some soldering skills.

thanks for that info =] but you are wrong about the pc power supply
read here http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/mods/pc_power_supply_xbox_360.htm

it works, i just want to know if MS can detect it and/or ban for it
