Can someone tell me....
« on: August 02, 2008, 10:52:28 AM »
...how I can change this so there's no push buttons and it's only an on/off switch to turn it on? I'm guessing get rid of those buttons and put a switch on the gnd or 5v?

...and how do you tell the orientation of a diode? The side with the black line is the + I guess?  And the pot I have, on 1 side there's 1 leads and the other side there's 2 leads. I'm guessing I'm using the single lead and either on the other side?

just leave out the momentary switches and connect with a wire(obviously). and add the on and off switch to the 5volt + wire.

I HAVE read lots more on this topic, but just to make sure, and clear confusion. This is a NORMAL 555 timer, correct?

You CAN'T use a normal 555 timer. You need to use a low power CMOS 555 timer
