CD Drive Issue

Hey guys i been having issues with ym CD drive i taken my xbox apart and when i take it apart it opens but when the case is on it gets stuck and doesnt open i tried seeing and figuring out wats blocking it. Has anyone has this issues or kno a solution of what may be stopping it from opening.

you sure case is assembled correctly, sounds like its to tight and stopping it.

Hmmm idk i didnt screw any of the screw back in to case i even loosen the cd drive screw that holds it together see if that was it idk im not finding wats stopping..

find out what drive you have, and I would suggest buying a new one and swapping the drive mechanics and leaving the same circuit board that came with the system.

The reason I suggest that, is that these drives have several forms of mechanical failure that conveniently happen right around the 3 year mark.  So if you chase this one down, chances are that before long you will have to chase the other ones too.

Swapped one of mine for $40 and gives you piece of mind for a couple years.  Post your drive model (go to llama's website for drive ID) and we can find you the cheapest on web.

Yea it is like if i have my case off and tape the right side of the cd drive when i open it then opens... so something on the right side is blocking from opening..

Hmm i think ill make a video show u guys cuz i really dnt want to buy a new like u said 802Chives. Even though u may be right and that. Cuz it does open when the case is completely taken apart and the he top of the drive is off including the front cover of the cd drive..

My bet is that you did the same thing that ive done multiple times... when your putting the top piece on (the first piece) look at the front of the case near the button you push to open the dvd drive. First off, make sure the button is off Second, you should see this little plastic groove on the case sliding into a metal groove on the metal case of the xbox 360. Make sure that it slid down BEHIND it, and then from there just make sure you have the backside of the case on. Tell me if i helped.
