Can i use Led CMS 0603?
« on: October 13, 2008, 02:23:50 AM »
Hello,

I order not long ago a pack of 10 blue LEDs 3mm, but they were too big to insert in ABYX buttons.
I then look on the forum and I saw that you speak of SMD LEDs 0603 but I did not find French site that offer this type of LED, I only find leds CMS here:
http://www.electronique-diffusion.fr/product_info.php?products_id=61015

Is that its LEDs can illuminate my buttons, how I should instalers after purchase? thank you

Thank you, but for now, I do not know where do I connect my little LEDs on the circuit with the + and -.
On this picture:

The + connector is much too small to be welded.

Do you know of another connector that my LEDs work?

Well, first off, everything on this site is too small to be welded. You're supposed to solder.
And, if you're doing an led swap, you're supposed to use those spots only for it.

Hmm, can i connect this directly to the battery?
Exemple:

In red= +
In Green= -
In blue= The cable link to link the Front DS

Or connect to GBA Port:

If you wire to the battery, then the leds will always be on and you have no way of shutting them off, even if the DSL is off.

Can you please answer my question? Are you wiring more leds in or doing an led swap?

you can't add that many to the GBA slot. If you look around on the motherboard, nintendo labels all of the points. Just find a + and gnd point.

Thank you, but do you know if there are other + and - in the circuit (Show me another images please).
In fact, if I connect my LEDs on the battery and add a switch. This is what will be much less hazardous to not damage the circuit?

fisrt off, do not double post, second do as PSPKicks said just look on the mobo for + and - spots. Check them with a multimeter or take a pic, circle them, and hope someone is nice enough to give you the info on the points.   :drunk:

That picture you posted of the headphone jack is not power points it is showing how to repair the microphone if the port is damaged.  You can use the origional LED power source but when you shut the case or have wifi on it will blink.  Here is an alternative power point on the GBA port.

I thought you can't load the gba slot with a lot of leds like that?
