double source psp battery
« on: October 31, 2008, 08:28:17 PM »
A few days ago I got myself 2 motorola cellphones from a friend who didn't want them anymore. I don't really know how to use the phone and I had a psp battery that was in need of some juice. I was bored and had nothing entertaining to do. So I came up with this battery mod for your psp. I took the batteries from the two phones, I soldered wires to the positive and negative pins, I added a psp power on switch, i then super glued and soldered the wiring and the phones batteries together. I had to cut the casing of the battery case so I could get everything to fit properly. Then BAAAAAAMMMMMMM I CREATED A DOUBLE SOURCE BATTERY FOR THE PSP!!!!!!!!!!!!

here is a picture of how it looks with and without the cover

Wow that looks awsome. Does it fit all the way inside the psp? I mean will the battery cover fit on with it in there? Also what cell phone did you get those batteries from? What kind?

Do you have to charge the two batteries individually? Sorry for all the questions but this is really cool and I want to know all the details so I can do it!

I'm not believing this.
I don't see it working, no pics here. (Link provides pics to users only.)
You can't just throw 2 batteries together and call it a day. They need to [obviously] be the same voltage as the psp battery, and you're only going to get more usage if they have a higher mAh than the psp battery.

Also, I'm absolutely amazed at how...blatantly secluded that place is. They rave and gawk over...what? Someone soldering 2 batteries together?
That's just...I don't even have anything to say.

Post pics of your super awesome one of a kind amazing epic mod.
...working.

sorry but you fail because he edited in the link after I moved it owned.
And, more fail.

His last edit before it being moved. And, I believe by looking at when your mod post was posted...

why would he post it if it didn't work? Think about it. And just because you don't think its great is not an excuse to insult him. He may be proud of his work and you just shot it down. Everyone else seems to like it. I know I do.

lol I agree with rceckspurt. As I under stand him he used two motorolla batteries and hocked em up to the battery powerboard without the original battery and that whould work fine kicks, It sorta runs on the same princibals as neubits AAA battery mod.

And btw kicks he moddifyed his post several times, I went to edit his post before I moved it, there was no url and he had tried to link a picture with no address so I didn't bother editing it because there was nothing posible to do. Then I moved it, if within the 5 seconds it took me to move it he changed his post and added the URL, Im only human. Once moved I was hyperlinking the URL before Luke posted but only posted it after, do you really think I could read lukes post, click the moddify button, hyperlink his url, writeGhoSt_Death: Please Hyperlink your URL's with the button, get the picture for that sentence, and make it yellow withing 30 secs. Gawsh.

But cool for a beginner  :#1:
I guess.

And, I'd like to see where I insulted him. Hm? Show it to me, please.
Pretty much what I got out of his post:
Hey look I soldered 2 batteries together lol now I have double psp power

Proof? None.
I'm not saying it won't work, but he will only get it working if it's the same voltage as the psp battery and he will only get more usage out of it if it's a higher mAh than the psp battery.
