Major Problems

Hey guys, i really need your help.

A friend of mine got a xbox 360 f0r christmas and he is having some problems with it. He is on the pre-NXE software and has been trying to update it. Every time he tries, he gets an error message that says that the update failed. He called the xbox support and they told him that his internet provider or his router may not support the xbox. this dosent really make any sense to me. Could this really be the problem?

He also cannot access xbox live.

He has a Netopia router and his internet service is through CenturyTel.

All help is appreciated.

He has to connect to XBL to update, that's why. Connect the ethernet cable to the router and try to connect to Live. If there's an error connecting, post it here. If it connects fine, then good the update will pop up.

But, wait. All new 360s have NXE...
He got an old 360 for Christmas. Lol

the eternet is already plugged in. He cannot connect to xbl thats the problem. He cannot update and he cannot get it to connect to xbox live. Im wondering if the explaination he was given is true.

yes there is some routers that are not compatible with xbox live.

these list are not up to date with the newest ROUTERS.



i suggest if you buy a new router, look for the LIVE COMPATIBLE LOGO.
