Well i want to know if any one knows where to buy el wire that can be ran off ~5v.

I'm fairly sure that all el wire runs from AC current. Yes, you can use el wire with the 5v, but you need an inverter. I have no idea where to get a small inverter unfortunately

well found this would this work to power from a usb port? This go down tn the 5v inverters.
