Finally finished my PSP...
« on: January 11, 2009, 08:22:58 PM »
Wow it's finally time I completed my first mod. Been here for over half a year now, and I haven't really even started modding until about 2 months ago when i started buying supplies and stuff. After loads of waiting, I got all my stuff and now I am done! Many thanks to Jumbo who helped me with most of my questions, and anybody else who helped me. This could've been done better, as I think I routed the wires funny and put too much hot glue so now my triggers will barely move. I think I need some lower voltage leds too as my power led swap doesn't look very good either. Oh well, hopefully my next one will be better. For some reason my leds won't react very well either, but I was told that that's what happens when you use an amp. Is it really this un-reactive though, or did I do something wrong...

Here's the vid:

One of my Slims look almost the same as yours. Except I have a white backplate with a silver UMD door and battery cover. I have a extra silver backplate but I was too lazy to switch it. I also have the black faceplate and white buttons with blue LEDs in my triggers.

nice to see your first psp come to life man :D . try replacing the 191k with a 150k it should make the leds more reactive but a little dimmer, you may need to drop the value even more.

Thanks everybody :) Planning my 2nd psp soon, I already have the psp, just need some parts and stuff. Lol 750 posts and one psp O_O

Anyway ghost, I'm using mike's soundboard so I'd have to swap it with an smd resistor. Would ebay have those? Oh well I might do it with lm386 on my next psp.

Won't it be dimmer if i'll put like 18 leds in my psp with an amp?

Yeah probably cause it'll draw a lot of current I think. It's pretty bright though, and I forgot to put it on max volume for this vid.

i noticed a similar "unreactiveness" with a slim that had the sound mod chip from acidmods.
i disconnected the chip from the left speaker and connected it to the right speaker and noticed a significant difference.

Sweet. A nice looking psp. i agree with 123sample on a matching backplate, but for a first mod, it really good :)
