upcoming 1st Gen Nano Projects

Hiya all new here so no rep i guess but been doing mods for a good 8 years and got a bachelor in software engineering anyways here is what I'm upto.....

Ipod Nano 1st Gen Laptop:

I've already started on this I'm working out some kinks in building a proper case and finding the right LCD the will work for the nano if anyone knows of a LCD screen I can use will be some great help for sure...  will post pics when I get closer to finishing

ipod Nano 1st Gen Android OS:

I've been serious about this project I love the android enviroment and think it would be nice to make a ported version for the nano i know if i can port it i might be able to work on trying to port to other ipods i need to make a bootloader for the android OS nano edition...

Ipod Nano 1st Gen NES Controller mod;

Been looking at plenty tutorials but none are for the Nano 1st gen and it kinda pisses me off i wanna use a NeS controller for my Nano Laptop mod so I will update everyone on my progress....

yeah, this will be very interesting, you mind telling the point of this? there doesnt have to be one, but it seems kinda out there for it not to have one.

Let me just throw some things out there.

An iLaptop. Yeah, no offense but that's...how do I put this... one of the most pointless things I've heard. You can't make a laptop out of an iPod. The CPU is extremely slow, it's impossible to get internet, do anything apart from listen to music, etc. Oh and you 99% aren't gonna find a screen. You can't just get a screen and throw it in there. If you just so happen to get a bigger screen, you have to rewrite the WHOLE firmware then. I know what I'm talking about.

Android? Whether you port it or not, you'd have to rewrite the whole Android OS, not just port it. A bachelors in software engineering won't get you anywhere with that...

I don't mean to bash, but I would hate to see someone try so hard for something when it pretty much won't work..

As kicks said , unless you are ready to work your ass off for the next maybe five years of your life , android is not gonna work on it .

Current Android implementations are built for ARM cores with maybe support for x86 in the future.

AFAIK The iPod 5G (that is as far as you will be able to go coz higher than that , the firmwares are encrypted) is running a custom 66MHz SoC with a separate Wolfson Electronics Audio Chip among others....

Android just cant run on it. The closest to a linux derivative for it is uClinux ie iPod Linux.

Yeah maybe the android Os won't work but my ipod laptop will work I said fu on doing the screen mod I got a case I can use for my ipod laptop I'm gonna use my Kyocera Wildcard that doesn't work anymore and drop it in that shell since its a 2GB nano I can un-screw the ram unlike the 4GB models which are soldered....

The point in making a ilaptop:

Wanted my ipod to look super kick ass and cool..... and nobody has done this yet I my hero Ben Heck turns everything into laptops without a cause or reason I just wanted to do a full tutorial while I build it all for anyone who might wanna do the mod and using a wildcard as the shell I can do some LEDs mods with it aswell its gonna be fat.....

I should have a few pics in about a weeks time of the mod in action and I will do a full tutorial on how to make one also did anyone checkout my rockbox tutorial did I do okay didn't know if you had one on the site didn't see one like mine....

So let me know if anyone gots suggestion let me know also anyone got a clue on the NES controller mod for Ipod nano 1st gen...

I saw ur ROCKBOX TUTORIAL , it could so with a bit of cleaning up , i dont have mod level authorities or i would have cleaned it up for you,,,,

so it looks cool then made need a lil cleanup I admit but that helped me those are the steps I followed and works like a charm everytime....

Gonna crack my kyocera and ya know what messed up I can't even fin a tutorial on properly opening a wildcard grrrrr....

Anyone know how to open a kyocera wildcard I will mess around today and take some pics tonight of the mod in progress.....

iLaptop gots a nice ring to it.....

Took apart my ipod nano..... but couldn't get the front panel to open up so I put my ipod back together still works....

I figured I will have to build the shell the Kyocera Wildcard wouldn't open had weird screws in it for a screwdriver I didn't have.....

I will get it figured out eventually....

Or I will put it in my Game Boy Color and go from there....

I know how to solder do LED kits that pulse pretty simple ....
