gamecube controller problem (non oem)
« on: February 16, 2009, 11:18:27 AM »
my gamecube controller (wireless gamestop mini controller) is acting weird... sometimes it will act fine, other times the characters will move around on the game when i am not touching my controller at all... is this fixable?

You mean like your analog seems to move without you touching it? Yeah I don't think that's fixable unless you replace the analog stick... It just happens when controllers and stuff get old, or from 3rd party controllers. I had a madcatz controller once for the ps2 and it was screwy within like a week or so of buying it, and my friend's ps3 controllers are all starting to do that after extensive play over the course of a year or so. Best bet is just buy a new controller.

all you have to do is replace the analog pot with a new and it's all fixed.  I did this with two of my controllers and save myself $60  :dribble:

Yeah but it's non-oem so it might be harder to find replacement parts, unless there are analog standards.

Yeah but I meant like, the actual analog part. I mean, like for leds for example, they have size standards and most companies use those standards in the systems, controllers, etc. But I'm not sure if there are standards for analogs, you know?

I've opened up 3rd party controller and I noticed that most of them use regular analog sticks.   I can tell you right now that one has micro analog sticks.  Have you ever gone to yard sales or swap meets?  most sell you the controllers for super cheap and all you have to do is replace the analog sticks and you got a brand new controller  :victory:
