Promblem with loading roms on DGEN

Hi Im not sure if this is the right place for this but i figured someone here would be able to help.  I have DGEN the sega genisis emulator and everytime i try to load a rom it flashes loading for less than a second then does nothing.  I have tried several different games and always the same thing.  Any comments welcome. thanks,
