Getting the screws out of the controller
« on: March 22, 2009, 06:13:42 AM »
Hi, I'm new to this and such so please bear with me on this.

I have a T9 torx screwdriver and whenever I try to get the screws out of the controller I am having the hardest time.  I don't know what I am doing wrong, I mean it seems fairly simple.  From what I can tell the middle peg looks like it is getting in the way.  But then every video I see of people taking the controller apart they just twist the screws off no problem.  My controllers are all at least 3 years old, so Idk if that has something to do with it.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated cause I am getting a bit frustrated :boxed:
Thanks

are you using a t9 security screwdriver (has little hole in middle of the screwdriver) if you arent just use a small flat head to break the pin inside the screws :)

 hope that helps you out..

Nope, I bought just a normal T9 Torx screwdriver-no hole for the pin.

I have a flathead small enough to do the breaking but I am wondering does it really just break as you say it does, or does it take some muscle to do so?

just twist your flat head around the screw, until the pin has been removed. then unscrew with your t9 screwdriver
