but how does that help me at all?

ive been trying to boot it since i woke up yesterday, ive tried replacing the ram with the original, making sure the hdd in inserted properly, everything that i could think of. and nothing.

well ive had the 2gb ram for a while now, like almost 1 1/2 months and never had a problem once since i got it.

and i tried replacing them a few times to see if that would work and its still not.

btw, OS's are:

xp home sp3
ubuntu 8.10 (normal, not eeebuntu)

I don't know if this will be the case with the EEE PC, but my AA1 netbook had this issue twice. What I did was reflash the bios.

a mate of mine's eeePC broke after I underclocked his CPU and reclocked it. 2 Kernel level commands that quickly crashes any OS (1st symptom, screen becomes garbled).

he can now only boot it if the charger is in, otherwise the screen is blank.

according to the IT guy at my dads work, the new netbooks that have been coming out are known for overheating and burning them selves out, so im having him back it up and im gonna send it to asus
