Hey guys I am am going to buy a slim mobo for cheap but I need to know if it can be modded. The guy wont open it to tell me the model of the mobo so thats a no go. Is there a way to tell by the model number or something. thanks.

EDIT: NVM...got him to open it up lol..

Hey atleast if you buy the whole PSP then just mod that one.

What? I need to know if the mobo can be modded for custom firmware....I have the model/serial number and was wondering if I could tell buy that.

umm i think there been something said that there are some new slim mobos that cant be hacked as i have heard but am not totally positive. search it on google.

Well so far every single PSP model has been hacked to run CFW by AT LEAST 5 people.

My question was how do I tell if the motherboard can be modded...BC as "I" stated, some cannot.....And "I" was wondering if you could tell buy their serial number...

Well basically the only thing unhackable is the ta-88 v3 for the slim and the 3000s. Everything else is hackable.

well here in the philippines the unhackable slims are being hacked by replacing its

cpu..

the 3000's cpu can also be replaced but the display cannot support it...but you can

have the tv/video output with it...hahaha...talking about portable...not!

the 3000 wasn't really hacked. The gripshift exploit just gave a user mode exploit which was pretty much useless and even that has been patched in the latest firmware.

Well I don't know who it is but I know one guy who is like a professional hacked did infact hack it 100% but that was just him, it's not really up to the "Mass-hacking" stage yet.

I don't... Ok I DO understand why Sony doesn't want hackers... I mean right now it's probably the only thing keeping the PSP alive.

ya its kind of true that the psp is dying , though the upcoming line up is looking promissing. Sony should embrace homebrew to really kick start the console. It would do the console good....

Yea... they should stop worrying about piracy. People are scared off by the psp by umds, and hackers are scared off by the lack of customization. If Sony removed the restrictions, theyd sell way more consoles =\

bring in customization and ability to run homebrew programs while forbidding access to UMD emulation or something like that to avoid piracy willl be best for everyone.
