Small Keyboard Problem :?
« on: November 18, 2009, 04:35:19 PM »
Hi Happy Gang

Iv flashed my xbox chatpad, but im lookin at the remote control for a slim psp, now... im wondering what what wire colors coraspond too. I found this for the orginal psp remote control,

1 - BROWN
2 - BLUE
3 - ORANGE
4 - GREEN
5 - YELLOW
6 - GREY
7 - PINK
8 - RED
9 - BLACK

Testing those cables with the controller plugged there are some interesting things;

1,2 - are tied to GND
3 - seems some kind of serial interface controlled by PSP asking for some information at some rate (some kind of SCL in I2C).
4,5 - are tied to 2'5V, they seem communication lines, they cannot give power, 4 is managed by PSP and 5 by the external controller (when you unplug this 4 keeps it's state but 5 changes to GND)
6 - seems the corresponding data pin from the serial communication, when you press something the serial signal changes (some kind of SDA in I2C).
7 - Audio channel signal PLUS 600mV DC (I guess this is the power output for external devices).
8 - Audio channel with no DC value.
9 - GND

but i cant seem to find any thing regarding psp 2001 Pin asigments,
Or the wire color code for slim psp remotes.

Can one of you please help me.
I did try using this color code for rx, tx, power and ground.

But it didnt work.
So any way
any help would be apreshated :)

Pin Asigments for the psp slim remote

Well after much research i can confirm the following pi-out for a PSP SLIM remote connector
1 2 3 4 5 6
o

7 8 9 10 11 12

LOOKING AT THE PSP REMOTE PLUG FROM THE TOP, REMOVED FROM PSP,

1) rx
2) +vs ( this behaves as a psp phat, ie see all other threads for sce remote device power behaviour )
3) Cable detect input ( 42k to gnd= component cable present )
4) remote detect line ( cts )
5) Pb
6) Agnd
7) Mic input
8) Tx
9) Dgnd ( Agnd in Comp Cable mode )
10 ) Y
11) Agnd
12) Pr

Have confirmed the remot pins cos have stable comms to the psp from a pc.

Iv found
with the psp slim remote the
Color Code is
Orange - +v
Brown - RX
Yellow - TX

I cant find the ground wire ...

ok After Talking with a friend we figuer the ground was
the exposed wire runing though the middle of the cable cluster :P

So
Hook it all up. Run SIOTest.
NOTHING :(

When i plug in the keyboard i get
1280 Received

Nothing else ...
