Difference with all the drives?
« on: April 23, 2009, 09:58:32 PM »
How many different drives are there, and what are the advantages/disadvantages?

I know the BenQ, hitachi, etc., but why are some drives referred to as almost the same thing? Like I see people referring to the BenQ as BenQ(lite-on)?

Thanks!

BenQ, Hitachi, Samsung and Lite-on. The older console have hitachi and samsung. The 2007 and some 2008 models have the BenQ which is the most preffered, the quietest and the most reliable. The new console now all come with Lite-on, which is basically exactly like the BenQ but is harder to flash if you ever want to.
