No video output???
« on: August 04, 2009, 07:53:56 PM »
Hey guys, I've always wondered this when I build my first computer. I look at some motherboards and most have Aatleast VGA output. but some ( like this mobo right there) don't have one. Does that mean you HAVE to buy a graphics card? Also, whats the orange out put on top of the optic(right?) output?

1) Look at the stupid pics. It's coaxial S/PDIF out.
2) If there's no onboard graphics, you need to buy a graphics card. That's common sense. And, no, most DON'T have any graphical output.

alot of mobo's (including mine) had the vga socket which wasn't on the back socket board, It was a external component which mounted on one of the pci tray things.

Some motherboards do not include it, simply because alot of people prefer an dedicated graphics card so that they can get better frame rates. Not just gaming, people like my mom who have  a 24" monitor and has a bunch of windows opened up at the same time need to be able to have everything look smooth. Some of the motherboards such as the 790gx chipset that I use in my computer have a onboard video with a dedicated chip for video. In my case it was an hd3300.

Hopefully that awnsered your question, Ignore the other dudes, they are being jerks, they were noobs before too!

Thanks for the sig dhuvrock2000
