psp noob

i want to mod a psp but i dont have one yet. i was wondering what is the best one to buy. and how much would it take to get suplies like leds, cases, pandora batire,ect.

Best one I would say is the 2000 series. Supplies like soldering iron, wires, solder, and other stuff can cost up to $15 if you a cheap 15 watt from radioshack and some wire. LEDs are very cheap. They can be bought on ebay for $10 for 50 of them. Cases costs about $16 from dealextreme. Pandora battery can be bought at dealextrem too for $7.

ok cool i have suplies a s load like $400 in tools and leds and crap load of other stuff , anther ? i wana make sound reactive leds and i am sure the pulse VU wont fit in a psp, so how can i do this

You can fit just have to cut down some plastic. I know the UMD tray is a option and under the MS tray.

Don't waist your money on those,
All you need is a transistor
a 2n2222 works
just go solder the end and middle of the transistor to the speaker, and the negative end of the LED to the other end of the transistor then from the positive side of the LED to the 5V+fuse on the mboard by the speaker and add the LED's in parallel, If the led needs 3.2v max then you dont need a resistor if it is like 2.4 max then it needs one like a 100ohm 1/4watt i think.  If you use 2 different colors, use another resistor and conect it  to the other speaker.  I will be making a tutorial eventually and will be selling kits
