Aaalright guys,

So I'm gunna get an iPhone, as I need a new phone and an ipod, as I sold my iTouch.

I'm reading the O2 contract info, and don't understand a few things..

The thing I don't understand is, that with all the plans you get free wifi (at BT hotspots etc) and free data (which I'm pretty sure is just standard mobile internet, like everyone has on there phones). But at the bottom it says "Data usage whilst roaming not included." - What does that mean, I can't use the internet while moving?!?

So confused.

Roaming is out of your area of residence
For example, you live in northern IL, if you are a few states over, you will get charged more for being so far away from your service.

Ok - I'm in the UK, so roaming will be outside the UK - correct?

that is most likely it but i would call them and ask if i were you.

and btw in the US the iPhone is never roaming... i would assume that it is the same everywhere but don't quote me.

yes roaming means if you go abroad. and the free data is free full internet access using the 3g network and the free wifi spots are basically any o2 or bt or cloud etc wifi spots

im on Pay As You Go cos you have to be 18 and pass a credit check to get a contract.

also its a lot cheaper in the long run, the amount i use it, and what i use it for.

im on month 10 of my WiFi and Web bolt on.

Ok - I can put it on my dads card? - But yer it does sound cheaper in the long run :/. So I need to save up £440~ to get it :/

yeah but beware, with PAYG you only get 1 year free internet.

though you can buy the S IMs on eBay for like £10 when it runs out and just get the number transferred to the S IM with the new bolton

if you are going to wiggle it or use it as a ruler or something, sure. but if you send alot of email and text like i do u wont like the iphone.

IMO, thats the opposite for me, I send tons of texts, and some email, and the iPhone is the best thing i have used in the past.
better than the iPaq, the Wizard and its a tie for e-mail but not texting than the wing. Also kicks Razr's ass for anything, but even those old suitcase phones can beat the razr.

the soft keyboard is a lot easier to use than any other ive tried, and if i'd got something else i wouldve regretted denying myself the thousands of good apps in the app store

What do you mean 'free internet', when you buy it do you get free internet for a year, or can you only use the £10 a month internet bolt on for a year max??

if you buy it on pay as you go, you top up your pay and go iphone sim card with £10 and it activates free unlimited internet for a whole year. you also still have the £10 to use as cred.

im not sure about been able to transfer one o2 to another as when i tried with orange ages ago they wouldnt let me.

did you hear that its comeing out on orange and vodaphone now so it might be a good idea to see what they offer
