Randomly got E79...no hard drive
« on: October 21, 2009, 06:05:39 PM »
So, I have this 360 here that I have flashed with Xell. I was about to start installing Linux on it, and then after turning it on for the first time in like 2 weeks, I got an E79. The last thing I did was test it out upstairs and it was working fine. I haven't touched it since then.

So, E79. The hard drive isn't in. I cleaned the cold solder joints I found, even a piece of solder that got lodged under the southbridge.
Still getting it.

Wtf is going on?

idk dude thats odd here is a quote from the error log:

According to tmbinc: E79 is the error code if xam.xex could not be started, i.e. probably a file system corruption.

Yeah I saw it, except that's on the hard drive and I'm not using one yet.
