I have seen this too. Someone mounted a LCD screen in the side of the console, And also still have the Av output, so they just split the signal i think.

Thinking about it, it doesnt seem that hard to do..

Thats awesome...I saw this ages ago here on AM can't remember the exact thread...anyone know where to get small LCD's from ? Also do you reckon you could mod a PSP screen somehow to be able to connect it to the xbox ? I'm thinking no... :S...just throwing the idea out there lol.

no you cant use a PSP screen, but you could get one of those attachable PS1 screens, disassemble it and make it internal

Thats what he did, you can see the AV cable wrapping into the back of the system into a hole.

I agree with some research I dont know why the psp screen would not be acceptable? may be more trouble than its worth dealing with the ribon cables..

first thing that needs to found out about the PSP screen is what format of video is native to that component.  the reason PS2 portable screens are popular is that they already have the interface from RCA cable to the screen, whereas the psp screen is probably a more of a raw format that may take some processing. IDK :dntknw: but what would be the place to start is if someone has taken a PSP screen and used it for somethiing other then a psp.

I remember reading some info on using a psp screen with another peice of hardware, I think it was a topic on sparkfun. I will see if I can find it.

Damnnn now that's modding lol, that would be pretty cool to do, but I just realized a problem the screens way to small...you wouldn't be able to see anything...What about portable DVD drive with their pop up screens...could you use their screens ?

a mobile audio screen would be best, the kind you buy for a car headliner or somthing

use a psone screen. i picked one up for $45 last night, it has a built it 7805 regulator so all you would need to do is to connect it to the 12v source on the mobo. It accepts a regular 3.5 video/audio plug in the back, for easy connection to rca.
