so soon there wont be the ability to be in a party when playing online. man that basically ruins the whole point of the party chat. i use it to talk to the people i want to talk to microsoft!! not the lil :censored:y kids that are online

this is a major downturn. I know some people cheated from party chat, but overall everyone liked it and it is a great option.

isnt that just making gaming a bit more realistic especially when it comes to games like cod

as in a war doesnt each team talk to each other over encrypted radio so the other team cant listen in?

ok first off, party chat has not even been around for a year...it was a new option, and not completly thought all the way through. it allows cheating its almost imposible not to. since party chat was implemented, I have not met alot of new friends online as everyone is in partys. yea the screaming kids suck, but are easy to mute.

for the record,
in modernwarfare 2 the party chat is ONLY disabled in hardcore. it is allowed in the other game modes

thank god, I new there was some sense on the infinity ward team. Most of the time I am in partys with freinds some of who are playing different games.

you are wrong on this one. Normal gametypes are also blocked from party chat. You can be in a party but the chat channel HAS to be on Game Chat. If you try to switch it over mid-game, it will ask you to switch it back or be forced back to the main menu. The only game types that I can think of (it says in the description of each game type is party chat is available) that allow you to use party chat is Free for All and all of the Mercenary games

makes sense for gamemodes like headquarters, and search and destroy where dead teamates are not supposed to be able to talk to live teamates... this was one of the major downfalls to party chat imho is that in these modes you can give yourself a major advantage with party chat.

But other then those 2 modes I dont see the point.
