It may not be the best thing to do, but if you put too much glue in the ABXY/Dome buttons or you made your LEDs stick out toofar (iI'm guilty of that) you can slice a thin layer off the nibs that stick out of the button pad. If you slice off too much, a little hot glue on the edge of the nib should restore the thickness.

yeah that will work.... BUT.... it wont feel right when you push the button... i would recommend warming the buttons in boiling water and trying to pull out the led and start again.... it took me a while to get my first few sets of led buttons right.... but i found if you use the right sized drill bit you'll leave just a little bit on the white plastic, just enough to use as a guide to fill you glue to...

i have a CG2 controller, do i need the optocoupler to wire up LEDs for my guide button and the a,b,x,y buttons? also if i used all white, and 2 blue ones in the guide button, i wouldnt need a resistor for the PnC kit or AA's would it? White have a forward voltage of 3.2 and the blues have 2.8.

hey krazykid, i have installed lights to my a,b,x,y buttons a few times on different controllers now. i have never needed an optocoupler in the past, also the only LED's you need to resitor down really are reds as they have the lowest outward voltage. hope this helps.  :hifive:

it does, i was actually just going to go with all white and 2 blues in the guide button to save on confusion, i just dont want the white to bleed through the color of the a,b,x,y buttons. Do your LEDs work fine when you have the PnC kit plugged in?

yea it works fine for me with a pnc kit, i always use the 7 mode flasher code for my abxy lights. as i say i have never needed an optocoupler in the past and i only put a resistor on the red LED in the b button. as long as you dont drill the buttons out too much then you slouldnt get much bleed from the lights.

https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,33501.0.htm this is an awesome piece of work from TopP8uZz. and yea i used the corresponding colour led for each button apart from the x button as i found white shows through better.

i just buy the chips and program it myself, if you cant get a programmer sorted anytime soon just drop a message in the chat box or write a post in the forums. I am sure some oone may b able to hook you up with a pre-programmed chip. i would offer myself but i only got 2 chips at the moment.

For the "start" and "back" button could you make them work without using a bread board? And if so where would the wires go?

Thanks

to the same GNd And VDD points the breadboard went to.

The breadboard is only so you don't have to solder all those wires to the controller points which are much smaller.

So what would I do if I wanted to add a 3mm led to light up every time the controller vibrates?
