the Os is already sorted its gonna be windows 7 nvidia edition which is W7 customized by rockers team  and the cd/dvd drive is gonna be a LG lightscribe drive

Fan controllers i dunno tbh if u look up the lanbox case * its the one with the handle on top* i dunno if it would be really worth it tbh.

I am running a Core i7 920 with 6GB of RAM and a GTS250, and it is smoking fast.  It just spanks everything that I throw at it, and I just turn all graphics/tweaks up to 11 and it is by far the fastest thing that I have ever had.

You know how an OS comes out, then a couple of years later it finally feels like the hardware that you have has caught up with it, and it is really snappy?  That is how Windows 7 feels on this thing.
I'm starting a new website for musicians- recording, live, inspiration, etc-  http://www.revolution9000.com!

Also check out my band at http://www.slowrecovery.com and help keep up up in the charts on Reverbnation!  Enjoy the music and spread the word!

You realize there's no such thing as 1866MHz RAM right?

Heres the link to prove u wrong.... http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158372 1333mhz is JEDEC Stardard but i can go as far as 1866mhz OC and i C&P it as 1866mhz cuz that will be the end result

They're just pre-overclocked if anything because 1866MHz isn't a standard clock rate.
So, no I wasn't wrong.

You can look it up yourself as well... because I just did to verify it. 1866MHz is only available as an overclock speed. It's not a standard clock rate*multiplier value.
So, I was right.

I was just pointing it out to make sure you knew, that's all. Beginners to computer building (not sure if you've built a computer before) shouldn't delve into overclocking because you can do some serious damage with it with the slightest tweak.

:drunk: Didnt u just read the post above as i clearly stated yes 1333mhz is JADEC standard but 1866mhz Is the i will be running it as i will OC cuz i wouldnt post it as 1866mhz if i wasnt going to have this in the final result.

Because it's pre-overclocked RAM.

Quote
All RAM data rates in-between or above these listed specifications are not standardized by JEDEC—often they are simply manufacturer optimizations using higher-tolerance or overvolted chips

They're factory overclocked, like I said.

If you read the first post that started the thread i was referring to my first build which i built and since then ive built 2 more for friends and this will be my 4th my first build was overclocked by thro bios becuz asus have a oc bios feature which i used i am planning on OC the CPU in this build like my first but ill ovi be reading up maybe finding some guide lines for it and what not and about the ram im only trying to state that it does exist and yh its OC but its from the factory so i would think that makes it's own model/type of ddr3 ram for example the 975 I7 is based on the first I7 920 which is why we can overclock the 920 to 975 ghz with tweaking. understand where im kinda coming from on this if not reply back and ill post back tomoz cuz im off to sleep now. Night

Yeah, you never said you were overclocking so I was just pointing it out.

How high are you overclocking the 920?
And, as far as I can remember, they don't use the lowest CPU as the reference CPU. Not sure, though.
For example, the 920 can go an excess of 4.6GHz (closer to 4.8GHz I believe), but the 975 can't go as high as that.

Sounds good. Do NOT go over 4.5GHz (closer to 4.3-4.4GHz) on air cooling. You'll destroy it. 4.5GHz is the MAX a 920 has been able to go on air cooling.
