Blood Paint Effects
« on: January 11, 2010, 02:28:05 PM »
A customer has asked me to do a GOW themed 360 by painting it black with splattered blood on it or blood drips.  Does anyone know how to do this well or the best way.  Thanks.

get a little bit of paint on a brush or knife and fling (in a slashing motion) it at the console, creates a splatter effect... make sure that if using something other than spray paint that you get the consistency to about that of actual blood, so not super thick but not too thin...

If using spray paint on your console then you can spray some into the can's cap until there's a little pool and then fling it at the console

Definitely practice it on some cardboard or something before you do it on a console though, get a little practice in and experiment a little to get the technique right...

ooh another blood effect xbox, I really want to see plz because I love the way blood splatter looks as a paint job.

the way I did it a long time ago was get a thin string (or thick if you wnt big splatter) dip it in the paint and just kind of smacked the 360 with the string in random spots.

but I like the way jrfhoutx said, sounds like it will come out better. But just try both 2 see which one you like. Good luck

yea, I just spray paint in the cap and fling it, just make sure you dont put to much in there though or it will look like crap. Experiment with it. It is a very cool effect. I have done it on things with like silver paint and other colors to give a nice effect to things. I recently made a old WW2 helmet look gears style with blood all over it using this method.
