Well, I was wondering...
« on: March 18, 2010, 06:06:58 PM »
I was wondering something about making my own rapid fire mod. 1) can I do it with a soldiering iron and some wire (I'm guessing not) 2) could I do it with a soldier iron, some wire, and an arduino (here http://www.arduino.cc/)

EDIT: 3) I was wondering if I should do use PICs instead of arduinos? If so, what is the cost, and how easy is it to learn to program/program the PICs

look in the open source area, you can see our free codes. order a free pic sample from microchip direct, build a programmer, program the chip, and then install it. this is alot for just one rapidfire controller.

buy a programmed chip

Here I am again, someone gave me a supposedly good program, but that brings up the problem of a pic chip, and how to give it a program. So, what's a cheap way to do this?

If you have an old controller, you can rig up a rapidfire out on two bits of wire and a button. Search how on instructsbles.

yes, he means matrix, search the site for " no chip rapid fire" by system. you will find it.....

or order a chip FREE sample from microchip direct.
search the site for "cheapest programmer" by gameroms, you should find a home built programmer for about 20 in parts..

or look in open source area of the forum. look at my topic, "how to use burnmeup2, by hazer" in that topic, I show you how to build the programmer, how to use it, provide free code, and show you how to install it.
