cg2 switching (on/off) voltage...

ok so when working on matrix pads i use a 2222ag npn transistor to act as a ground break for led mods (to turn them off when the pad turns off) i also use this for cg2 led mods....

but im trying to fit rapid fire  (hazers BMP3) to a cg2 pad. there is no 3v switching supply..... i found a 1.5v switching supply i use on the transistor to activate it for led mods but i found using it on the rf chip to break the ground... it doesnt turn it off the chip stays on..... so disconnected it completely and disconnected the ground all together butthe chip stays on....

so i tried using this transistor on the + side of the chip..... it dont work..... so can any1 help either get this transistor to work or recomend another????

Specs for the transistor look decent enough. If you something to test voltage/resistance try this:

- Test RF chip to Common Ground:  Whats the Voltage?
 
   Hookup your transistor again
- Test the base of the Transistor to ground:    Whats the Voltage?

- Put a 4.7K Resistor across the Base and Emitter of the Transistor.   How Much Current do you read Through the +Voltage to the Collector?

The 4.7K Resistor Will Ground the transistor so static electricity won't mess with it (switch it on and off randomly)

cheers fooks will test those voltages..... one thing  i dont hav any 4.7k resistors so will need to order some..... so what im wondering is there another component ie transistor that will do the job on its own.... i think this will be helpfull to more and more modders as they buy newer pads and find they are cg2 (no voltage for the rapid fire to wire to) arg this is the third or 4th one i've had in a  few weeks from my mates....

hi ... i just did the same thing ... turn the controller off and the chip is still getting power.. can you please help me / show me how to set it up so it turns off ??

Use an OptoCoupler on the CG2, or any of the controllers really. The Analog Voltage line is switched, which you already know, and using it to turn an OC on/off can turn the power on/off, so you won't have the issues the NPN Transistor gives you when switching Ground on/off.

WIRELESS CG2 (Common Ground 2)

TP8 - Analog Voltage, 1.5v
TP2 or TP22 - Ground
TP5 - AA and PnC B+
