Help With Nitro Rc Truck
« on: March 27, 2010, 11:23:12 PM »
hi they gave me a Nitro Truck(traxxas-Stampede)
(FREE)
i wanted to know where could i buy a charger for the EZ Start2(starter),
Or How Could I Make 1.
Would It Be Better To Sell It As It Is, Or Fix It,
I Saw One Sell For $300, And $200-$150 Broken,
The EZ Start2 Has A Very Low Charge, It Will Idle The Motor But Wont Turn Over,
Let Me Know Thanks
(O And In The Chassis Pic, i Just Saw That The Wire That Goes Into The Blue Cylinder,(Next To the Motor) The Wire Is Missing Could I Just Put Any Wire To That Or how Could I Fix That)

there is a couple of RC Car guys around here, i am suprised no one has chimed in...

sounds like all you need is a charger for your battery?  Are u sure the battery is still good?

what exactly is broken?

If you wanted to make a battery charger you can use an old computer power supply as a lot of DIY RC guys do for their charging needs.  However buying another battery/charger kit might be the way to go, that way you have 2 batteries.

The battery pack that goes in those ez starts is a 6 C-cell battery. You can buy a brand new battery with charger at radio shack for $20 that will do exactly what you need. Here is the link http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062121. I have a modified tmaxx. It has a 3.3 big block. They are very fun to play with. Most parts that you need can be found online or at a local hobby shop. As for the blue wire that runs into the cylinder, that is the glow plug heater wire. This hooks into the ez start plug to heat up the glow plug. You should be able to find some diagrams online to rewire it.
