i dl'd this and it flashes and gets a syntax error, any os its not compatible with? dont laugh im using a dinosaur laptop runnin windows 98, i cant detect a flash controller nomatter what, resolderd, bypassed resistors, checked pinout, so i thought id just try your program, this jtag is fighting me every step

you more than likely dont have the portIO drivers installed. I didnt include them with this. Google NANDPro and download it, and install the port95.exe(or something like that, sorry im not at home at the moment lol) reboot the PC and try using NANDTools again

ok got your program working, it makes life nice, but now it reads 0's and just says cant open nand to write???no errors and flash config of 01198010' my soldering is good, and my cable is only 4 inches... i dunno im about to give up, i have been trying this for about a week and longer if you count the cygnos i took off. maybe when i uploaded the new cygnos firm ware i flashed it to the stock nand, i dunno how to check. ive checked the web for hours and still nothing.

you might need to short the NAND, if not try removing the resistors from your LPT cable and dump again

ive seen a small tut or diagram on where to short it but if i have no original nand saved (because ive never read it) what will i flash back? or will it self restore?

shorting it just allows you to flash a corrupt or unreadable NAND.

yeah nice program blackburn read the nand fine got 2 good dumps but won't let me write xell or XBR to the board have tried everything just tells me it can't open the xell bin or the xbr bin no clue what is wrong like i said it read fine even showing good properties soldering good cords all good any clue like i said it keeps telling me it can't open the bins

I'm having a problem with these on my computer. I installed port95.exe but I still get an error. I'm not at my other computer right now but I'm pretty sure the error is "can't find dlportio.sys". That happens when I try running nandpro.
