I posted long ago that I was going to try the psp trigger led mod, but totally forgot about it, in any case I had a friends to repair the other day (simple power board issue) and it reminded me of this. I've purchased all I need apart from the wire, I was informed I required 26 gauge wire, but could only find craft wire. Is 24 gauge wire suitable? Can anyone help me find a suitable wire?

EDIT: After searching around on ebay i managed to find some 30 AWG Kynar wire, so ordered that. I now have a new question, When doing led replacements, say the memory stick access,is solder paste required? And if so can someone explain its purpose?
