Windows XP is to be finally put to rest by October 22, says Microsoft. Though it is hard to count the amount of times that Microsoft has said something not dissimilar to this, it now seems to be the beginning of the end of the end for XP.
Microsoft will not allow OEMs to use windows XP on new netbooks, laptops, or any PC from the aforementioned date.
The OS, however could dissappear earlier than this date, with
81% of netbooks sold in April having been pre-installed with Windows 7.
So here it is... RIP Windows XP - RIP to the Classic OS - and hello to the age of aesthetics.
