Idea: Leather / Faux Leather Controller Cover
« on: November 16, 2010, 08:35:31 AM »
I'm not sure if this should be in art or nodding section, but here goes:

CONCEPT:

(images to be added later)

Controller cover, removable, fashioned out of brown leather with cream stitching. Holes for buttons connectors, etc.

2-piece. Front connected to back with brass press-studs for easy removal.

Perhaps lighter leather piece to place over mic adapter when it is not needed.

PROPOSED METHOD

Make 2D Map of controller shell, front and back. Stitch leather to curve to fit controller.

I'm not sure if this is the greatest idea, the leather would probably go all icky and stiff cause of sweat.

Here is a suede controller ive been working on. It still isnt done yet because im trying to improve on it some more. But i had it put together and i have to say its the best feeling controller ever!! Only im sure it will end up smelling like sweaty hands after a couple hours of game play. Suede controller+febreze=win I think the leather idea would be great. Btw, do not use 3m spray glue. That shiz sucks so bad. I recommend using DAP spray glue.
