thread for new mod ideas ,not modified versions of old ones.
« on: January 26, 2011, 01:46:03 PM »
motion sense capability with go cam. would probably be able to use a modified version of the psp touchscreen plugin were developing.

infrared through the SIO port to add universal remote to slim.

ability to create LAN connection for multiplayer with out the need for a router (kinda like how the ds does it)
ability to play multiplayer through the usb port like the old game boys and ds

external umd drive ( simple enough)

Ideas and input please even if you dont know how to do it. we need new mods

I like the motion stuff. kool idea. I used to work in security C.C.T.V. and one of the products we installed, used motion capture and target recognition, it even controlled servos to move camera to track target.
I have no idea how they did. I was ran by a computer. But I can talk to my old boss and see what he can remember about the product or company.
Funny I just seen this guy today for like the first time in a year.

that would be awsome.

if it was servos for target tracking go camera could rotate through  with servo that gets information from the SIO or if we could the usb.

I think a while back some body made some sort of security app with target tracking for the psp. that could be developed to work for controls by assigning x and y signals to process.
we could even give it z tracking base on the size of the target. just have it calibrate the tracking size from a uniform distance.

another idea also simple though only for esthetics.   no profile capacitance light up touch buttons.
or even a capacitance touch analog. ( it could just look like a gray circle or some thing on the face plat but would be your analog stick, it would look amazing)

I was thinking about bluetooth. I know the devices are small. Even if its just adding a bluetooth peripheral. I think there is a bluetooth headset for psp. Not sure .

psp 2 is reported to have bluetooth. They do have something similar in design to the psptouch that docks to the bottom of the psp and transmits bluetooth audio.
Internal audio only bluetooth tute.... Found here
https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,27166.0.html
what we need is a blutooth remote control. Then we'll be able to receive bluetooth signal and go into data over sio.
Bluetooth would open doors.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/103316424/bluetooth_GPS_receiver_for_PSP.html ?
mare bluetooth devices.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/378728060/Ultra_Slim_Mini_Bluetooth_Keyboard_For.html
and this one too...http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/337389521/Vibration_Joypad_for_PS3_PSPGO_Bluetooth.html
I didn't think there would be this much bluetooth support.
Im going to go look at "go" stuff.

stealth buttons using capacitive touch instead of buttons
http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9604
and a few of these.
 http://www.sparkfun.com/products/7902
I think Galaxy came up with this. a touch pad instead of analog nub.
I say stealth because they dont need to be on the surface this could be mounted behind plastic faceplate etc. if these where set up in an array you could read directional movement. Imagine no buttons but then when you use the "buttons" an led lights up an area that looks like a button. Can be used as just button replacement but it can do much more.

addon to the go cam motion sensor idea. have it act almost like the connect for 360.
maybe psp with this setup could be linked with the 360 to act as the connect?

kinda different idea have the 360 connect work with the psp

Iam so ready for psp2
getting it on the release day.
first order of bussiness will be to enable all homebrew for psp on the  psp2 then we can just use existing n64 and so on emulators and stuff with better processing so they will run great.
second I say we get some p2p for psp2 playstation2 emulation.

as for thoughts on a potential mod for psp2 it is all software as the psp2 has everything you could ever want already internal. make the front facing camera work like the connect for 360 so you can use body motion.

the psp2 is a thing of psp modders dreams.  :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk:
