My first psp mod finished
« on: June 17, 2011, 02:42:00 PM »
I recently got a psp 1000 that had a broken umd drive and already has cfw. The housing for it was in pretty rough shape. I spent about $20 for a new umd drive and $17 for the new housing, so overall i didnt spend much. I wanted to keep it simple since its my first psp mod, so i just decided to do lit triggers and change the wifi led. I used 0603s for the triggers and wifi.

Thanks guys, yeah its kinda a metallic silver. I bought it from ziquex and i was expecting it to be a cheap chinese knockoff but its not a cheap housing at all. Its actually more solid built than the factory housing lol.

Thanks Rodent! i might just do another psp and do something ridiculous now that im familiar with the internals. My hands are just SUPER shaky since i got electrocuted awhile back so its hard for me to handle these ant size screws and messing around with 0603s.... Its alot easier to do xbox mods lol

Yeah i was gonna do all gold buttons. I ordered from a company on ebay and a couple days after i order them they said they were out of stock. So i ordered some from another company on ebay and the same thing happened. A day after i ordered them they said they were out of stock. SO i said screw it and just went with silver and black.

I personally dont like painting handhelds, a new case is always better.

Yeah, ive never really worked on handhelds but i would prefer to spend the $15-$20 for a brand new case. They even come with full screw sets and stickers, its a steal if you ask me.
