JTAG question

I have a friends xbox who wants me to jtag it. the xbox has never been on live as far as he knows, so it should be ok (will check kernel when I get home) The thing that worries me slightly is that he paid someone to flash the dvd drive to play gbackup disks. Will this affect the jtag in anyway? I would not think so, but thought I would ask if anyone has delt with this before.

It should be totally fine... U might have to reflash the dvd drive after you update the dashboard..to play backed up games still on the dvd drive. But as far as jtaging the Xbox you should be good to go as far as the jtag is conserned

thats what I thought also, but the drive should be uneffected, even so, the xbox should now play backups without the modded drive??? we shall see.
