your first problem, you got it off eBay , when the deal is too good to be true there is reason for than ,
just buy one bran new there at Wal-Mart for 14.95 so if something go wrong you can take it back ,
3rd you have provided no picture I don't know the conduction don't even know the guy who sold it to you if he open it or try to mod it
and something when wrong than close it up and put it on ebay so be someone else problem, best case it has short
Plug the controller and Move the cable around or the controller and see if you can get it to shut off ,
is it shutting of everytime on a Specific time 2 - 3 min to the dot if do than its not a short its a hardware
My advice open it and do some research online and learn something and try to find out your self, and than post your finding and images here
than some one be able to help
I don't know much about afterglow as I only Use OEM controller
