Questions about buying a new soldering kit!
« on: June 24, 2014, 11:13:01 PM »
I want to upgrade my soldering iron and I wanted to get a high end soldering kit. Any suggestions on what I should get? I'm looking @ around 130$ price range.

Heres some I was thinking about :http://m.ebay.com/itm/161258695406?nav=SEARCH

http://m.ebay.com/itm/380911584152?nav=SEARCH

Please give me honest feedback about this product or other products u would recommend!

Update: I got impatient and inpulsed bought this;
http://m.ebay.com/itm/111037604057?nav=SEARCH

The price seemed good with everything that comes with it. Its not as top end as the other irons I posted but it will do the job I use it for with no problems! I also picked up a electronic desolder pump. I hate my old cheep plastic tip manual pump and crappy RadioShack soldering iron.

All of this is going to make my work soooooo much easier! # love me some new tools!

I've got the 888D and absolutely love the thing. no regrets about buying it, and hakko replacement tips are everywhere!

the two button interface is overly simplistic (and as such makes it kind of difficult to change presets) but if you are fine with just adjusting the temperature then no problems there.

bottom line: get the Hakko!
My systems:  -PSP 2001, CFW and PSP 3000 shell.  -PSP 1001, LED mods, custom firmware, speaker mods, sound reactive LEDs.  -Black NDSL, LED mod, 0.5x and 2x speed mod.

Well I could cancelled my order later today during buisness hours. I was at a toss up between the hakko and the iron I purchased. I just wounded if anyone can tell me if the item I just purchased is a good deal or would I be better off springing like another 20$ and picking up the hakko? I'll check this thread out in the morning and make my decision based off others reviews or input. If I Dont hear anything else I'll just stick with my original purchase.

Update: Just gotvmy new iron! Here's a pic.
