JDM-020 not working
« on: February 16, 2020, 12:00:38 PM »
Hello everyone. I bought a JDM-020 recently. The seller said that he carried it to two workshops, but they said that couldn't restore it. After a visual inspection, I noticed that some details were missing)

I measured the current consumption of DS. It was 0.10A.

Somewhere there is a short circuit) On the other side of the board, I found a heating element.

Nearby also visually punched D6F.

I have several D6F for replacing from donor boards and I can find the missing elements, but I don't have the chip and I can't find it on Aliexpress.com.
Do you think it is advisable to restore this DS?

In that shape, not really worth the headache. With that many fried chips it's hard to tell what all else is now out of spec in there. That MK24 is the 32bit MCU, and even if you replaced that chip it would still never work because it needs to be programmed. You'd have to get that part from another working controller, so it's really only good for a few parts, or just the challenge of possibly getting it going again.
Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.
