xbox controller Model 1708 Right analogue push button not functioning.

Hi,

I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction, I have a 1708 xbox controller that's had a replacement analogue stick fitted. When testing all other aspects of the stick function as expected however the push button isn't functioning, If I check with a meter in continuity on a multi-meter connected to the pins on the rear, I get continuity when the stick is pressed. any pointers would be appreciated. funnily enough, I also have the same problem with another model of controller (1914)
