Modding my Room
« on: November 15, 2007, 11:26:32 AM »
Yes thats what I am going to do,

I had this idea, I want to make some clear strips, with RGB (SMD) LED's in them, then I want this swithc wich let you change the colour of the led's, and maybe a function so the led change from colour automatically (with fading).. If anyone know how to do this, ore got a tutorial for it, It would be awesome.. (It needs to get plugged in a standard 230V connection)..

Cheers

(ye I am R&D but I am just stupid;))

im not positive this will help but it is something to look at. a friend of mine made one and it is quite impressive for its size and output.

Hmm awesome, thats almost what I mean,, but you have to program some PIC's yourself, and well., I simply can't, so I need something without custom PIC's (A)

How bout you get the chip from sickmods and add a long wire and a switch and there it is and let me be the first to say SMD LEDs  REALLY to go around once would take hundreds and that may cost you i would reccommend using 5mm unless you going to space the leds a long distance

you could get some chair runner (is the wood molding that prevents you from denting your wall when you back up) and you could cut it to fit and run some EL wire behind it. they make inverters that plug in to the wall and are sound sensitive so when you get the music going it will flash and you could buy a lot of different coulers and control witch one you want on with a switch

I was thinking of like a way to lock (Windows Button and L) Your PC when you leave the room.

Have 2 IR Sensors, 1 after the other, so it can sense your direction, when 1 is triggered, then 2, the PC Locks, When 2 is triggered, then 1, PC Unlocks.

wow matt, that was wwwwaaaayyy off topic,
but my idea is that you could get some rope lights (leds in plastic/rubber casing) and set that in the edge throughout your bedroom
i did it for the bottom of my bed, looks pretty cool and comes in different colors
