Which version do you like best? The UK one, or the US?
Here in north america the ds is gold with a tri-force, but what i found was that there was a silver ds as well that came out in the UK. they both come packaged with the legend of zelda: phantom hourglass game but i'm wondering which ds looks better?

the US/CANADA GOLD DS LITE

and the UK SILVER EDITION

I personally think the US one is better, mostly because of the emblem on it.

thats wat i thought at first, but now it just seems too plain. and the UK one has dull colors. they both have great designs and if i were to buy one i wouldn't be able to choose.

I bought one of those, I'm not really impressed by it because of the finger prints smudging all over it.  IMO, save your money, just go spray paint the inside of a case gold and put on your own emblem, it's cheaper and better looking.

all dslites get fingerprints on them easily. i was about to grab one off the shelf a few days ago, glad i didnt. u gonna mod it all? it might look better if u get clear buttons and add yellow leds.

Nah, I decided it was a waste of money and returned it to the store in exchange for a white DS.  The flashy case REALLY isn't worth the money (IMO).  It just looks really shiny (which is nice) but it doesn't really look right if you get what I mean.

What I think would look 10 times better then the new limited edition case is if you took a Shock chrome case, cut out the tri force symbol on the back very gingerly then covered it with frosted plastic THEN added yellow LEDs to it.  That would make an AWESOME improvement.

I mean the little rinky dink tri force symbol in the corner isn't worth it up here.  Right now those limited edition cases are selling for $180+.  I just bought a brand new DS lite for $99, and if I was to ebay myself a chrome case it would be another $45 including shipping.  Add some know how with a can of spray paint and there you have it: your own version of the limited edition case.  Except yours would be shinier, and you can take pride in saying "mine looks WAY better then yours".

Bottomline:
New limited edition thing package: $180 (closer to $200 including tax)
Brand new DS lite in any other color: ranges from $99-139 (including tax)

I can only see myself keeping this system if I wanted to keep Phantom Hourglass (but I already own it).

Coming from someone in the UK , I personally think the US one looks better. The black image doesn't look good for the silver background. I would look better in my opinion if the image on the UK one was a darker variation of the background colour like the gold one , so it didn't stand out so much.

That said , I still think they are both epic win.

I'm in Canada, there were only so many shipped here.  The limited edition DS' and Wiis are flying out the stores so the prices are high for them especially since it's the Christmas season.
