PvP's Retrocontroller Video-Out Concept

remember that psp with the broken lcd? i took it to a prof to see if i could revive it and well it didnt survive  but my prof did analysis each line for me which was nice of him. then i asked him if there was some way i could transfer those signals into an output signal and he said that if i wired it to a vga output it would work. so this will be my next project after the usb (we'll see if i can get ne thing from that). ill be integrating my tilt sensor into this psp.

from left to right (monitor towards you)

basically i want to do something like this to it.



with the psp where that console is with plastic handles coming out of the sides. then the x/tri/cir/sq buttons would be wired to toggle switches on the handles so you get better finger grip then having to reach across the median to touch it. then the tilt sensor would be placed in the umd drive and wired to the analog port. then i would remove the lcd/backlight/lcd cage and replace it with something more useful but i havent come up with ne thing to place in it yet so we'll have to see. if ne one is interested in doing this give it a shot if your lcd is screwed up! just get rid of the lcd and keep the plastic ribbon cable. each wire has a hole that it ends up on so just do the safety pin technique found here

i do realize that this has been marketed before but this is a homemade version of it.

lol this has nothing to do with the mobo. its the lcd thats screwed up. if the lcd is screwed up theres no way to repair it so u might as well try this mod with it.

u could get a new lcd but ull always have that broken lcd with the ribbon cable. so why throw that out when u can try this out for fun!

does the pinouts you have mentioned mean i can wire up a pc to the psp screen?that would be awesome,also is the voltage input for the psp lcd the same as the vga's output or will i have to put resistors on there,if i do have to put a resitor on it i'll get fiddling l8r on i have like 5 psp lcd screens i can tinker about with (not including my 2 functional psp's),if this is all so,i can just get a vga adapter for my ps2 and BAM!i got a 100 portable psp screen,oh yeah also which pin is the positice (power),pin i also need to know that,and sorry but 1 more q how which pins are for the backlight and how much power does the psp lcd suck with the lcd screen on and the backlight on,thanks very much

Your PSP pinout is not corect PSP have 8bit pro color not 1 wire U need use DAC IC HI1178 or SONY CXD1178 brightnes of each color is set whith 8 bits  check SHARP website for docs .

He needs a DAC when he wants to output it over a RGB cable and not the VGA. But yeah you are right too, you took it from the original thread?

Tried last night, corrected the mistakes, didnt work, I read the original project and the problem is that my monitor doesn't support SoG, going to look for the DAC, soldering this crap alone took me 2 hours alone, lol cant wait to get the chip, dont expect anything done from me for now putting it on hold

U can use original sinc signals with R G B when your monitor dont support SoG , how i can make composit signal from this??? anybody know?? whitch RGB modulator can make this for me?? BC I have CRT 100MHz TV and in AV-SCART i need R,G,B and COMPOSITE signal for sinc

EDIT: I like this mod and when i find some RGBsinc to COMPOSITE modulator i do it for shure .
