that would require too much additinal time on this. having 2 sets of buttons would be more ideal since ill be able to access both consoles at the same time without having to switch

true that is what makes it a hybird. Just like adding HDD support if wanted right.
I openend my ipod up and the HDD and board take up hardly any room.3.3v the HDD is too. i have a 5g i wonder what the inside of my sisters 6g ipod is like. cant you just buy the HDD from apple and stuff  them put the guts into the umd drive bay that would take no room.

I went to ipodlinux forms like i do often but this time i looked for some one talking about usbhostfs and got the ipod to ipod usbhost (only one ipod has to have linux the other in disc mode) no good, this was no help. now i know you ported the usbhostfs to the ipod but how or where can i get it.

lol just port it. right now im deciding whether or not to add the ps2 handles. im thinking i have to because the dpad/facebuttons are too close to the bottom with a lot of weight towards the middle which would throw off the center of mass for gripping.

right now my main concern is that the gp2x f200 has usb host 1.0. if it was usb 2.0 i wouldnt care but ive never streamed anything to my psp (using usbhostfs) with usb 1.0. anyone kno if theres going to be lag or lag spikes?

i would guess their would be some what of a lag considering that the usb 1.0 has a lot less transfer rate then the usb 2.0. Any ways that is what i was told by my prophesier. cant rember the dif off hand i should but i cant think of it.i thought i read that it was usb 2.0
12 mbps is the max and the usb 2.0 is 480mbps
a hard drive uses 40-320mbps
flash drive now hits at least 30mbps

then again i could be dead wrong.

try it wiht fifa 08 cuz that game lags even on some slower memory sticks.  So it would be a good way to judge all scenarios etc.

As i keep looking at the handles it would seem that it would be too top heavy unless you put weight on the handles to balance it off. I dont know but i remember when i had the GBA the big one and had to get a light but i also bought the handles add ons and it hurt your wrists. am afraid this may do the same thing.

Hey pvp could you switch the screens around so the touch screen is at the bottom an the psp at the top it may be easier to operate.

i dont want to switch the ts to the bottom because the gp2x is lighter by design so it should go on top

just msged Mathieulh about having a xmb icon...

Why do you need and icon for. I guess i missed something. I would ask him how we can add the usbhost that irshell has into the xmb. I mean you can switch the usb from flash or memory and umd why not add the usbhost as an option.

Other then being pink in that last one I think it would look fairly cool and would be really entertaining to make. I don't think I would get enough use out of it to do the mod though, my PSP gets a lot of use and adding bulk to it makes it far less worthwhile to carry around.

It is not that much bulk. It is a few more pounds of weight and a few inches wider it cant fit in a pocket but it is a way to go if you own 2 psp's one for home with the hybird and one for the road.

this is very doable. hardest part of the whole mod i think is gettig it all to gether and look nice with out wires out and zip ties holding the parts together. but the rest cant be that hard to do.

lifesize prototype drawing

below the psp shell will be the top part of the ps2 controller (without handle)

will need to shorten the height of the top half to let the analog sticks poke out without hitting the top half

it curves with the palm perfectly. if i reduce as much weight as i can for the top half of the case, and make the bottom heavy i can use the bottom dpad/facebuttons without having it unbalanced

PvP, you have always had some wierd analog placement. personatly i would put the analog sticks ( i would actually use nubs like the stock ones.) were the dpad and face buttons are and the buttons were the analog sticks are. easier to hold in  my oppinion but it is your mod, do as you feel.
