pls help ipod direction pad not working!

ok so my freind gave me a 1st gen ipod nano
but teh directional pad doesnt work so i opened it up nothing looks lose or anyhthing
none of the directional buttons work included the middle one

so could anyone help

Check that the ribbon is in right again, if that's not it he may have fried the clickwheel somehow...does it move when you run your finger around it?If it does he definitely fried something for the clickwheel. I've got a few laying around I might be able to help you  out XD

idk yet it is on charge thhe battery is completey died

and i think i leid about teh gen i think its a 3rd gen (its a nano with color screen)

if u have any directional pads i might buy them off u if your selling theem?

Every Nano has a color screen, please use google and search for the generations and find out whichv ersion it is, also there is a huge :censored:ing difference between a 1st gen and a 3rd gen.

yes there is *fufa,
1st, metal backplate, plastic front
2nd, aluminum case
3rd, wider, shorter, newer, version of 2nd

it should be done charging at this point
like pspkicks said, does the scroll wheel work at all?
if not then your wheel or ribbon is screwed, if the scroll wheel works then something must be wrong with the bottons on it

o woops srry forgot to answer back

yeaster day when it WAS on the buttons didnt do anything couldnt scrool ether(hold button worked but the battery came loose so i had to solder it back  today

but now since its turned completey off  i cant turn it on now cause the click wheel doesnt work at all
