got a new ds lite onyx from best buy. quick question, any cartridges that use sd for homebrew?

yea ive read about the r4 but i dont want to use micro sd. i wanna see if i can use my 2gb sd if its practical.

you chould always mod a sd into it. i know theres gameboy slot cartridges that have sd.....

YES i already said this in your other thread Supercard SD , its a slot 2 cart that you just need to get a passme of flash your ds lite to use

any slot 2 card you have to have passme, any slot 1 card you don't not.
on a side note there are some pretty cool cards that do other stuff and have passme built in

that thing bulges out too much. any cartridges that take reg sd cards that dont stick out that much?

only the older ones use the sd cards, the newer one typically use microsd or minisd.

well do u think i should get this. its 2gb builtin memory and its slot 1. i dont think it can play gba cuz i read thats slot 2 only.

don't get that one (it's one of those unreliable brands)
get something like this one

or someother one like r4ds or ez-flash 5 their much better then that
and no slot 1 can't play gba games but you can buy a slot 2 card and play gba on that.

DSX has terrible firmware issues that are yet to be fixed and is overpriced compared to its rivals such as the G6 Real which does MORE for the same space and you can ADD led's, look at where you are :P

yeah and i meant the DSX LOL

yeah flash drives aren't really worth it

the only perk i like about the DSX is its the only flash cart that searches the device in game view and JUST shows the executables, you still have your folder layout but with this you just have to pick the executable rather then looking through 50 folders of homebrew and games.

well i ordered that card and a transparent white case with trigram from dx also. idk what im going to do with my ds when it comes in 2 weeks. im thinking maybe razor the dpad which shouldnt be that hard. and prob do rumble onto the right speaker. idk if i want to audio amp the speakers to lighting yet since i dont do lighting. im thinking of removing slot 2 entirely and doing something with it since i got a gpa emulator on my psp and dont really need the slot 2

hmm the removal of the GBA slot works well, you could probably do it so that you have the rumble from a pak inserted in that little space, hopefully with a switch :P (playing EBA with the thing is a complete pain in the ass XD), lighting aint too hard, to me its just finding a spot that feels right to yah. If you do the rumble, please mention it here or to me :P I have 2 ds lites and 1 phat ds and I wanted to try that to one of them

I think that MPH (Metroid prime hunters) does, but you have to change the controls a bit, ain't too good though since you have a longer delay of turning yourself vs people using the stylus to get a faster smoother turn.

the ds is a FPS gold mine purely based one its touch screen, analogue controlls are what make fps's so successful

Games that use the touch screen really well are QuakeDS, Duke3DS and Metroid as seikene said

there's probable way more but analog mods are tricky because of size restraints, and lots of people do use the slot 2 space is why its a bit dificult to remove, but funny thing is i was actually thinking recently of making the slots removable FPC drives to save room

Yeah, forgot to mention the homebrews :P, but if he means through those face buttons, then I really doubt many if at all that I've seen besides MPH and some super monkey ball mini game, but it blows for an fps (obvious reasons). You're probably better off trying to use an analog stick to control the touch screen itself, but I still can't see that working in my mind, only because it looks weird... and if anything try doing the rumble from the slot 2 itself, either througn making a permanent one and losing the slot 2 or making your own slot cover rumble. In any case I hope when it comes, you end up figuring out what you will do to it and you suceed

, cuz I would love to see an internal rumble mod on a DS

i really dont care what ppl use its for my own usage. im for sure going to remove the slot 2 since i dont really want to buy a flashme (or w/e its called) and just use my emulator on my psp instead since its pretty good. but im not sure what i want to put into the slot 2 tho thats the thing. i want to put something practical but noones done before.

Well like I said, no one that I know of currently has done an internal rumble in their DS. Hell in there you have enough space to stick 2 small speakers inside it.Hmm you can add extra bright LEDs in there and make your ds into a flashlight!!!... no that's stupid
