What does this mean?

I had bought a Psp off Ebay.
When I charged the battery up.
I put it in and it would not boot up.
It would not engage umd drive.
It does nothing except this....
I hold the power switch & the green led light comes on,
I hold the power switch again & the green led light turns off.
When I plug the power cable in the light turns orange.

Tried pandora battery and magic memory stick.
I put battery & magic memory stick in.
The psp automatically powed the green led light.
I hold the power switch & the green led light turns off.
I put the power cable in & light turns orange.


Any Idea what the problem is or if can be fixed?

Could be broken screen, does it make sound? if not, press the music note button, is there sound now?

It is not the screen I took it out and tested the screen in a 2nd psp.  I pressed music note but nothing happened.

psp backlight fuse.....try bridging it....

Great advise..  I will try it..
If that fuse is burned out would I hear any sounds from the psp?
Would the umd spin? 
Would it boot up,,, but sceen be black?
With mine none of that happens. Just silent & black screen.
That dam green led light haunts me.

i bet it is the files on your jig kick arent working. I tried an unbrick once using a pandora and it didnt work and then i went back and deleted the files then put the files i downloaded online back on and it worked. Good luck lilong

you would here a buzzing sound if it is working.....

try this before doing anything else...
1. power on psp (with everything put together)
2. go under a bright light and look to see if you see anything on the psp
3. if so bridge the backlight fuse/resistor....
4. if not it isn't the backlight and it may just be the mobo

I put under the light & saw nothing. I have put a powerboard on order from hyyp.dealsextreame.com  But I did not see a mobo.  Does anyone know of a good online site to order one.

i would try and see if there is anything on the motherboard that is causing the problem... possibly a broken resistor or something?

clean your battery terminals...

not sure how experienced you are with psp stuffs, is the battery your trying to use to play games a pandora battery?
did you load the files correctly on the memory stick? have you tested it with another psp?

the umd drive not spinning could be cause you have a bricked psp... also why the screen isnt turning on.... i would assume your files and/or pandora are messed up.

dont go buying parts till you have checked these things (saves you monies)

I have recieved the powerboard. Installed it & for the 1st time heard the umd drive boot up a game. I could hear the sounds of the game. I also held it up to light & could see just barley something moving on screen.

For some un-known reason it powered off at 60 seconds.
PSP worked for a couple of hours like this.
Then it returned to the previous state.
No power to system
the only sign of life was green light led on power board.
Next thing I tried was to bridged the power fuse. 
But it has not helped.

it may be a problem with the power board or more likely the power board connector, take the power board and remove the connector that connects it to the mobo and see if it is damaged at all, if not take a close look at the power board

I just put a powerboard connector on order from
dealsextreme looks like it will be abot 20 days to know
if that will fix the problem.  Will let ya know in about
3 weeks.  This is absoultly the best site.

It is fixed.  I had bought this off ebay.
It was missing an Internal part that when screwed tight put pressure on the MOBO.
I had only found this out when applying preasure with my finger to a metal looking spring.
I folded some tape and place it the spring
and tightened my metal gage up.
